About This Project
The K.B. Specialty Foods in Greensburg, Ind., employs 270 associates and has been a Zero Waste Facility since 2014. In that time, they have diverted more than 90% of waste produced from going to landfill each year.
Along with a new anaerobic digester, K.B. Specialty Foods recently had the 2G Energy Inc. 600 kW CHP installed. This new system replaced a conventional wastewater treatment system and features a dome that captures biogas and the combined heat and power system that takes food by-products and work together to convert them into energy.
2G Energy Inc. recently commissioned a Combined Heat & Power (CHP) project in Greensburg, Indiana. The 2G avus 600 kW CHP is located at Kroger company's K.B. Specialty Foods. Recently, Kroger announced a Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social impact plan that this project supports. The goal is to end hunger in communities Kroger serves and eliminate waste in their company by 2025.
